This program is for children 2-6 years of age. This program begins promptly at 3:30 p.m. A library staff member will come to the Children’s Department to let children know that it is time for the program.

 

Each week children will be introduced to a different theme through a combination of stories, songs, finger plays, and crafts. Children who attend this program should be able to color and use glue sticks independently. A parent or guardian must attend story time with children under 3 to assist with finger plays and craft projects.  

 

In accordance with Library Policy 802 parents and guardians must remain in the building with all children under 5.

 

All the children will be escorted back to the Children’s Department at the end of the program.


If Brownstown Central Community School closes due to weather, all children’s programming will be canceled.

Brownstown Elementary Students: Bus 24 will transport children from the school to the library.  Please send a note to your child’s teacher the day of the meeting explaining the bus change.
 

All Parents: Should make arrangements to pick up their children promptly at 4:30 p.m.

If school is canceled due to weather the book club will also be canceled and that meeting will not be rescheduled.

Children who attend this program should be able to color and use glue sticks independently. A parent or guardian must attend story time with children under 3 to assist with finger plays and craft projects.  

 

In accordance with Library Policy 802 parents and guardians must remain in the building with all children under 5.

 

All the children will be escorted back to the Children’s Department at the end of the program.


If Brownstown Central Community School closes due to weather, all children’s programming will be canceled.

You can look through our idea books or design your own structure.

Science Rocks Camp - Ages 7-12

Science Rocks Camp - Ages 7-12

 

Children ages 7-12 will participate in various science related activities during these one hour daily sessions.

 

Each session will include oral story presentations and hands on demonstrations of science experiments.

 

Participants will learn the importance of group participation, quiet observation, and consideration to peers as we explore the mysteries of science.

 

This program will be held at the Jackson County Park in Brownstown. Participants should be brought to the park and picked up following the program each day. 

Participants should wear clothing and shoes that are comfortable for active play and hands on experimentation.

This camp is for children three to five years old.

 

Each session will include oral story presentations, music appreciation activities, crafts, games and light refreshments.

 

Participants will discover the importance of group participation, quiet observation, and consideration to peers while participating in a wide variety of music appreciation activities.

This program will be in the shelter house located behind the swimming pool.

The program will last approximately 45 minutes. 

Music CD’s will be available for purchase following the performance.

  • During the discussion each participant will explain what they like or dislike about the book.

  • All meetings will be held in the library conference room.

  • After school snacks will be provided. If your child has any food allergies or food-related medical conditions, please make the club facilitators aware of any restrictions.

  • Videos may be viewed when pertaining to the book selection.

  • Book-related games, puzzles, and crafts may be used at some meetings.

  • Some activities may occur outdoors, weather permitting.


Brownstown Elementary Students: Bus 24 will transport children from the school to the library.  Please send a note to your child’s teacher the day of the meeting explaining the bus change.
 

All Parents: Should make arrangements to pick up their children promptly at 4:30 p.m.

If school is canceled due to weather the book club will also be canceled and that meeting will not be rescheduled.

 

Registration is required and limited to 25 participants.  You may register in person or by calling the library at 812-358-2853.
